CUBANOS VERDES:
Sunday May 18th, 2014 Presencia Cubana Festival, will be the first Zero Waste event at the newly renovated Echo Park. 
Vendors and staff will not use oil based plastic or Styrofoam, but only biodegradable greenware and organic plastics. Biodegradable utensils may be available at general stores like Smart & Final or from distributors like Catergreen of Echo Park (http://catergreen.com/).

HERE IS OUR LINEUP FOR THE MUSIC ON MAY 18:
12:00 noon Master of Ceremonies Omar Godoy will start the program with a special greeting and DJ Saoco will hold court.
1:00 pm The Batá of master Lázaro Galarraga will play to Elegua by the José Martí landmark. A Comparsa featuring Pedro "Muñeco" Aguilar will wind its way from the Marti Monument to the Main Stage choreographed by Kati Hernandez
2:00 3:00 pm Mambo Mass
Danilo Lozano and Cuba/LA will present selections from Cachao's Mambo Mass which was premiered in LA in 2000.
3:15 4:15pm Changui Majadero
Changüí Majadero brings to Los Angeles the authentic Changüí music from Cuba. Led by TRES player Gabriel Garcia, Changüí Majadero captures the essence of Cuban “musica campesina”, inspiring and captivating audiences with its high energy, lyricism, and soulful syncopated swing.
4:30 5:30 pm AC Jazz Project
Led by trumpeter Josiel Perez, the AC JAZZ PROJECT throws down some serious Timba, Cuba’s hottest dance music. The AC Jazz Project is formed by former members of some of Cuba’s best dance bands such as Maraca, Piloto y Klimax, Haila, NG La Banda, and Opus 13
5:45 6:45pm The Arsenio Rodriguez
The Arsenio Rodriguez Project is an All-Star ensemble of today’s top LA musicians, who came together to pay tribute to Arsenio Rodriguez, the Father of Salsa and the master and creator of modern Cuban dance music.
